If you have not known
The relief,
The joy of riding,
Then you truly have not lived.
To feel a creature
Listening to you,
Ready to charge at your will.
Making a bond,
All with no words,
With an animal that seems to understand.
Knowing that what you sit upon
Can choose to harm you,
But does not.
This is the exhilaration,
The carefree happiness
That riding a horse brings with it.
If you have not sat upon one of these graceful beasts,
Then you have not yet lived.

Thunder.
Falling loudly like
A massive drop of rain,
Startling me,
Making my hair stand straight.
The sky shakes,
The earth shakes,
And all is not still
Thunder.

Startling me,
Making my hair stand straight.
The sky shakes,
The earth shakes,
And all is not still

NaPoWriMo 3
Anger fills me.
It floods my body,
Stretches out to every limb.
My mind is clouded over with anger,
To the point where I cannot think properly.
I was accused,
Wrongly.
Not that it was a major thing,
But I overreacted.
I turned away on my heels,
Stomping away,
Saying something irrational without even thinking.
I try to keep the feeling in,
But alas,
I cannot.
Madness overruns me,
And I feel about ready to explode.
The funny thing is that it happens after a good day,
Which then makes me feel guilty.
I really don't even believe what I say,
And that is what confuses me.
It floods my body,
Stretches out to every limb.
My mind is clouded over with anger,
To the point where I cannot think properly.
I was accused,

NaPoWriMo 2
I see the face of sadness,
And purposefully hide from it.
I must not feel any of it,
Understand why it looks so sorrowful.
I see the face of anger,
And intentionally run away.
I will not allow myself to know it,
To see why it is so hostile.
I see the face of indifference,
And force myself to leave.
I cannot feel what it feels,
Or get why it seems so blank.
I see the face of confusion,
And carry my feet away.
I shall not share what it shares,
Or understand its gaze is so clouded.
I see the faces of joy and love,
And fling myself at them.
I desire to be like these two,
To experience all that they do.
And purposefully hide from it.
I must not feel any of it,
Understand why it looks so sorrowful.
I see the face of anger,
And intentionally run away.
I will not allow myself to know it,
To see why it is so hostile.

Canter, Canter, Canter.
A horse has great power,
And grace like a budding flower.
Hop, Hop, Hop.
A rabbit has long, silky ears,
To be aware of all of its fears.
Walk, Walk, Walk.
A dog has gentle, small paws,
Unlike its strong, sharp jaws.
Swim, Swim, Swim.
A fish has colorful fins,
And eyes that resemble the heads of pins.
Stride, Stride, Stride.
Humans have an intelligent brain,
That allows them to attain and explain.

A Wild Ride
Yesterday, I had a riding lesson. It started out great- until the incident happened. A loud noise came from inside the stable, and my horse freaked out. He bucked time and time again, until I was launched off of his back. When I hit the ground, it really hurt, although I came out with only a few bruises. But, today, I had another lesson with no trouble. I'm really grateful to have horses in part of my life!

A Collection of Various Poetry
South Africa
A choir of angels with unwavering sound
Lift their voices to the heavens and make the world turn round.
A sweet, charming baby with a heart of gold
Brings warmth to the world, expelling the cold.
A small, desperate child with bare feet
Makes us realize that our lives are more than complete.
A towering, flat mountain with a sheer green glow
Lets us realize how nature’s riches flow.
A deep, crashing ocean with crisp clean beaches
Brings the world insight of how far God’s power reaches.
A fierce, persistent wind with a howling voice
Gives us all the more reason to rejoice.
A competent creature,
She lies in wait,
Paws scuffling on the turf,
As the sun ceases to exist.
At the slightest resonance,
Her ears pivot,
And her vivid eyes taper.
The rodent surfaces,
Frail hands reinforcing a slim form,
Minute nose shuddering,
Heedless of the feline’s existence.
The mouser stiffens,
Bracing for the spring,
Extended claws contracting into the loose soil.
The leap is made,
And the woodland is hushed,
As the feline seizes her target,
And buries her prey beneath a brier.
The paws nimbly amble off,
The tail alertedly swishes,
As the competent creature,
Prowls off into the clustering undergrowth.
Anthology
The very guile of the act was impressive.
But I should have guessed it was coming,
For his disposition seemed spontaneous.
These recurring pranks are frighteningly prevalent,
And I worry that we will have to modify his behavior.
To extricate him from this treachery.
Our generation will not be as accepting, I fear,
Of his anonymous stunts and jokes.
I believe it is pivotal, imperative,
That we banish this naughty streak.
