I see the face of sadness,
And purposefully hide from it.
I must not feel any of it,
Understand why it looks so sorrowful.
I see the face of anger,
And intentionally run away.
I will not allow myself to know it,
To see why it is so hostile.
I see the face of indifference,
And force myself to leave.
I cannot feel what it feels,
Or get why it seems so blank.
I see the face of confusion,
And carry my feet away.
I shall not share what it shares,
Or understand its gaze is so clouded.
I see the faces of joy and love,
And fling myself at them.
I desire to be like these two,
To experience all that they do.
