I lurk in the darkest corners,
Snickering to myself.
I hide under children's beds,
Installing a sense of fear.
I am the one who pops infants' balloons,
The one who spills a child's ice cream.
I am the one who corrupts men,
Who creates all things unjust and wrong.
I am Evil.

It's funny how
Time can be so fleeting,
Or fly by me.
Time is a being
Nobody can understand.
Master of tardiness,
Queen of early arrival,
Time's fingers are in everything.
She has two arms;
One long,
One short,
To get her point across.
And she always rings a bell for every hour.
Time can be so fleeting,
Or fly by me.
Time is a being
Nobody can understand.
Master of tardiness,

Time's fingers are in everything.
She has two arms;
One long,
One short,
To get her point across.
And she always rings a bell for every hour.

Places.
I love to travel
It's almost an addiction,
And love to talk about where I've been:
Canada
The USA
South Africa
Puerto Rico,
And the UK.
It's always an interesting topic.
But many more places I have not been,
Yet still yearn to be:
France
Italy
Russia
Germany
And Australia.
I have many more years to travel to these,
And that is my life's goal.

Everywhere I go,
I see people on their phone.
Checking their Instagram feed,
A deed they perform with ritual speed.
Updating their Facebook status,
Never with hiatus.
Or Tweeting about a sweet new shop,
Typing until their fingers drop.
This new world is filled with screens,
A realm well discovered by many teens.

Papers of knowledge.
Guardians of wisdom.
Defenders against dumbness.
Swords of attainability.
Portals to the world.
Dreams of highways.

My life is so small and fragile.
I need air to breathe,
Food to keep me going,
And water to save my life.
I am a sister of God,
A niece of Jesus,
And a daughter of the Holy Spirit.
I think of God wherever I am,
No matter if I’m riding,
If I’m quickly swimming,
Or if I’m singing Let it Go.
God is never out of my life.
I was made out of mud,
Shaped out of dust,
And I am a human,
So tiny compared to God.
He loves me relentlessly,
Shelters me no matter what,
And comforts me when I am fearful.

Type 1 Diabetes.
A short name,
But really,
It's life-changing.
Back when I was 6,
The time came.
I was always thirsty,
Always tired.
We called the doctor,
And went to the hospital.
I was too young to understand,
What was happening to me.
The nurses gave me shots,
And I didn't even mind.
They changed my whole life,
And at first I didn't mind.
But now I look back,
And truly care.
I see what I lost,
And grieve.
But I know I can be healed,
And trust God to do that.
